Orange Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a spice derived from the inner bark of various tree species of the Cinnamomum genus.
The English term "cinnamon," attested in English since the 15th century, derives from the Ancient Greek κιννάμωμον (kinnámōmon, later κίνναμον: kínnamon).
The English names canel and canella were also used, similar to the current names for cinnamon in several other European languages. These derive from the Latin cinnamon, a diminutive of canna, meaning "tube," referring to the way the bark curls during drying.
Cinnamon has been known since ancient times. It was so prized among ancient nations that it was considered a gift worthy of monarchs and even gods. Its origin was kept secret for centuries in the Mediterranean world by spice traders to protect their monopoly as suppliers.
